Application Questions
Is your software web-based?
No, our system is not web-based. Every computer that is to use Who's Next? will need the software installed first.
Which departments use "Who's Next?"
We've built our software so that any Student Services area can use Who's Next? Originally built for Counseling & Advising Centers, we've found that other departments like Financial Aid, Disability Support Services, Admissions and Records, and the Women's Center can track their students using our software.
Can we import our students into the Who's Next? database?
Yes. Our software has a built-in import wizard that can import students from any text file or Excel spreadsheet.

How do you issue updates to your software?
Our software has the ability to check for updates via the web. If an update is found, our Auto-Update component will download the updates to your computer.
*IMPORTANT* in order to successfully download updates, your user account will need Write/Append access to the 'C:\Program Files\Blue Eon Solutions\Who's Next 3.0\' directory. If your network user account does not have access to this directory, our Auto-Update component will fail.
Do you offer a free trial version of "Who's Next?"
Yes. We typically offer our software on a trial basis for 60 days, but can extend it further if necessary. Please contact one of our customer representatives for more information.
My computer can not connect to our "Who's Next?" database. What can I do?
First make sure your computer is on the network and can ping the server. If this does not fix the problem, make sure the server is turned on and is functioning properly.
For older computers, please make sure the computer has the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is installed on the computer. This will make sure the computer has the necessary DLLs and COM components to connect to the server.
Licensing Questions
How is your software licensed?
For every school that purchases Who's Next?, the software is licensed on a per-login name basis. This means that for every counselor, advisor, and staff worker that you want to log in using their own user name and password, a license will need to be purchased.
*IMPORTANT* please note that our software is not based per computer. You can install the software on as many computers as you want. The only limitation is how many users can have their own user name and password built into the system.
Can we purchase a site-wide license for our campus?
Yes. Once we determine how many user licenses you may need, we will issue to an customized quote for your campus.
How many users can access the system at the same time?
The relational database system we use to store the data can allow for an unlimited number of users to access the system simultaneously. The system will not bog down or crash after a certain number of simultaneous users.
Does the Student Sign-In Component take up a license?
No, it does not take up a license. You can install and run this component on as many computers as you need to.
Purchasing Questions
Is there a renewal cost for "Who's Next?"
No, there is not a renewal cost for our software. However, we do have an nominal support & maintenance fee. The fee allows for your campus to receive any technical support (via telephone or email) and any updates and upgrades for a full year.
*IMPORTANT* our Annual Support & Maintenance fee is issued for every campus that uses our software. This fee is waivered the first year, and will be issued after our software has been in use for a full year.
Can we use a credit card to purchase your software?
Yes. When you're ready to make a purchase, we will email you instructions on how to make a purchase using a credit card.

Do we need a server to run "Who's Next?"
Yes, you do need a server to run
Who's Next?. This is because all the data that is collected by the software needs to be stored in a centralized location. Every computer that uses
Who's Next? will connect to this server to store and retrieve information in real-time.

How many students can the database hold?
The relational database system can how millions of records, and as many students as you need.
